ZimmNews – July 18, 2014

Hello ZimmComm Fans:
The ZimmComm team is enjoying a summer break before getting back in on-location action next week starting with the Southern Peanut Growers Conference and Agricultural Media Summit. There is a lot on the schedule in the next couple months so we’re pretty sure we’ll see many of you somewhere!
One of the hottest topics in the ag sector lately has been the uncertainty caused by the proposed EPA Waters of the U.S. rule. You’ve probably followed the #WOTUS or #DitchTheRule hashtags. Our latest New Holland sponsored ZimmPoll asked “How would the EPA water rule affect you?” Even though the EPA is saying that all normal farming practices are exempt the answers we got were primarily: Just more govt. regulation, Permits required for routine activities and Will regulate more of my property. Yeah, who is going to believe anything our government says these days?
Here are some interviews from this week you might have missed:
Luke James, Ag Leader Technology, on what they’ll be showing at InfoAg Conference
Leah Guffey, Hick Chick Chat with Leon Corzine and Jim Reed during Precision Aerial Ag Show
Delayne Johnson, CEO of Quad County Corn Processors, on cellulosic ethanol
Aaron Hutchinson, iCropTrak, describes Version 5 of their software
David Witherspoon, Syngenta, on flex fuel infrastructure donation
