ZimmNews – April 22, 2016

Hello ZimmComm Fans:
We wish you all a very happy Earth Day.
Now for the news everyone has been waiting for. #ZimmieZebra has a new home. Congratulations to Samantha Bock for her “Jungle Love” tweet. We’re thrilled Zimmie has a new family and home and hope to get updates from time to time from Samantha. For those who don’t know, we had a contest at our NAMA conference booth to use a free zelfie stick to take a picture with Zimmie and social media post it with the hashtag, “#ZimmieZebra.” You can see lots of the photos here. Thank you to Nufarm for partnering with us on this important zebra re-location project to save the NAMA wildlife.
We’ve been posting stuff from NAMA all this week, including our ZimmCast with new president Matt Coniglio. It was a great conference!
Our latest ZimmPoll asked, “What do you do about statistics?” By that we mean media statistics. How do agricultural marketers measure their investment in print, radio, tv, web, social media, etc.? For us, this has become more and more important as the ZimmComm News Network has grown. We have struggled with finding a good option to streamline the immense amount of time it takes to manually look up a whole list of different statistics.
Our poll results showed that using a combination of tools is the top way this is being done. A service like Sprout Social ranked high on the results too. If you have a favorite or useful mechanism or service we’d love to know about it. Feel free to email Chuck anytime.
Our new ZimmPoll asks, “How many generations has your family been involved in agriculture?” We’d love to know.
Here’s some audio from this past week ICYMI:
Remarks from W. Dwight Armstrong, Agribusiness Leader of the Year
Remarks from Dan Fanger, Agri-Marketer of the Year
Ethanol Report on Earth Day
Luke Zerby, New Holland PLM
