ZimmNews – Aug 23, 2013

Hello ZimmComm Fans:
Hope you’ve had a fantastic week. It’s been a busy one for the ZimmComm team. Chuck attended the 2013 National Agvocacy 2.0 Conference in Charlotte, NC. This is conducted by the AgChat Foundation where he has served on the board since it was founded. But he has stepped down to let another passionate agvocate carry on. ZimmComm will continue to promote and support the AgChat Foundation any way it can.
Cindy attended this week’s John Deere product introduction in Columbus, OH and captured lots of photos of the new equipment as well as some video so you can see it in action. Next week you’ll find us in Decatur, IL for the Farm Progress Show and we’ll have our biggest team ever on the ground bringing you all the sights and sounds.
Our latest ZimmPoll asked the question, “How important are biotechnology and antibiotics for food production?”
Our poll results:
· Critical 65%
· Important but not vital 16%
· We can do without 16%
· Not important at all 0%
· Other 3%
It looks like even with all the negative comments from anti-agriculture groups, the majority still think these technologies are integral to our modern food production systems.
Our new ZimmPoll is now live and asks the question “What is your opinion on farm info graphics?” Do they confuse you? Do you love them? Let us know!
Here are some interviews from this week you might have missed:
Kathy Michael, John Deere, on wireless data transfer
Dr. Jude Capper, on beef myths
Dr. Dan Thomson, Kansas State University, at NAMA Boot Camp
John Deere vice president for sales and marketing Luke Gakstatter
